Summer programs

Horseman’s Apprentice Program

 

Begins June 8th and runs through Aug 5th, 2011. One, two, or three days per week  at a cost of $25 per day paid a month ahead. Times are Mondays from 12 noon to 3 p.m.; Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Apprentices will learn to groom, tack, feed and be responsible for cleaning one stall. There will be a group riding lesson included. This is a very popular summer program   and fills quickly. You may choose which days you prefer to participate.  Advanced scheduling is required.  Yes, you may choose to Apprentice 3 days per week.

 

A limited number of working student positions will be available for students who wish to stay longer to help out with barn tasks. Working students enjoy a 50% discount on the apprentice program. The Apprentice Program is not appropriate for lead-line only riders; if you have questions whether or not this is right for you, please ask us.

 

 

Developing Dressage Rider

 

Two 4 week sessions which meet one day per week, beginning June 8 and July 13th. The Developing Dressage Rider Program is for riders who can ride walk/trot solidly and are at least beginning to ride the canter. Each 2 hour session is limited to 4 riders. Classes will meet  Wednesdays or Fridays.  One session per week is required, but riders may take both sessions for the whole 8 weeks if desired. Cost per 4 week session, one day per week is $140. ( A few working student positions are available at a 50% savings)

 

The purpose of Developing Dressage Rider  program is to refine the riders position with the use of video footage and group critique.  Riders should expect major improvements and be ready for a humbling experience.

 

Here are the exact dates:

 

Session One Wednesdays June 8 (10 a.m.-12 p.m.), 15, 22, 29

Session Two Wednesdays July 13, (10 a.m. –12 p.m.), 20, 27;Aug 3

 

Session One Fridays (2-4 p.m.) June 10, 17, 24, July 8

Session Two Fridays (2-4pm) July 15, 22, 29, Aug 5th

 

Possible earlier or later drop-off times may be arranged.

Regular riding lessons for Children and Adults go on throughout the Summer, so there is something for everyone.
